Café de Madrid was a wooden bar where the sailors and employees of the train were meeting regularly.
In 1930, the architect Albert Febvre-Longeray built a neo-labourdin-style house, now a hotel and restaurant.
Café de Madrid was the first club head office of Pelote OLHARROA (in 1920) but also the club of the "Friends of Paul-Jean Toulet" poet, married in 1916 to a daughter of the Eskualduna hotel and died in 1920 at the age of 58.
Today, the soul and spirit of the place has remained intact, in a unique atmosphere full of history.
